LASER THERAPY:

Laser Therapy (class IV)  is the use of non-invasive specific wavelengths of light (red and near-infrared) to stimulate the body's natural ability to heal. The effects of laser energy include improved healing time, pain reduction, increased circulation and decreased swelling.  We proudly use Summus Medical Laser (formerly K-Laser). Treatments to spine as well as various joints in the body.  Treatment plans available with or without Chiropractic care but best results are achieved with spine and joint balance/mobility.  Recommendation will be based on initial evaluation.

CHIROPRACTIC CARE:

We provide a gentle low force approach to chiropractic adjustments.  The technique is referred to as the Activator Method.  This technique uses as small, hand held instrument to deliver a gentle impulse force to the spine or joint with the goal of restoring motion to the targeted spinal vertebra or joint. It is an alternative to traditional manual form of spinal manipulation that utilizes a higher velocity/force.

MASSAGE THERAPY AND MANUAL THERAPY BODYWORK:

These therapies involve skilled hand movements to the joints and surrounding soft tissue.  These techniques are ultilized to:

·        Improve tissue extensibility

·        Modulate pain

·        Reduce soft tissue swelling, inflammation, or restriction

·        Increase range of motion

·        Mobilize or manipulate soft tissue and joints

·        Induce tissue relaxation

Techniques include but are not limited to manual traction, myofascial release, massage, and passive range of motion.

Examples of conditions in which these therapies are utilized: neck pain, mid back pain, low back pain, frozen shoulder, iliotibial band syndrome, postural imbalances, fibromyalgia, and numerous other conditions.

SUPPLEMENTAL THERAPIES:

Some other modalities that may be included in your treatment plan include:

·        Muscle stimulation

·        Therapeutic ultrasound

·        Mechanical traction for lumbar and/or cervical spine

These are utilized as supplement to your adjustments and massage/manual therapy bodywork in order to reduce swelling/ inflammation, increase circulation to problematic area, and decompress spinal regions.

CORRECTIVE EXERCISES:

Generally, during the course of a rehabilitative treatment plan corrective exercises are incorporated in order to restore full function and balance of your unique problem.  These exercises are sometimes taught and performed in office at first and then modified to be performed in the comfort of your own home in order to maintain your spinal correction.  These specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in health.
